The Best Way to Prepare for a Shoot As a Bikini Model

The Best Way to Prepare for a Shoot As a Bikini Model

Excelling in your photo shoot is vital to your position and career as a model. In the modeling world, 90% of new models fail. Why is the failure rate for new models so high? Very simply, they fail to impress the photographer, the client, and most importantly, the consumer. Modeling is a selling market. If it's a catalog shoot, you're selling the clothes, shoes and accessories. If it's a men's magazine, you're selling sexiness and class. If you're shooting for a women's magazine, you're selling class, style, grace, and whatever product the advertisement entails; whether that be make-up, perfume, or cleaners. If you are unable to excite the client and the photographer, you definitely will not excite the consumer and entice them to want what you, as a model, are selling.
The most important element in posing for a photo shoot, is mastering the emotion of beauty. Emotion is what binds us together as a people, it unites us. You want to be able to carry emotion through your body, through the camera, and to the consumer. To achieve this, you'll have to practice in the mirror all different kinds of emotions; sensual, glamorous, mysterious, sophistication, confidence, shyness, happiness. Remember you want them to feel what you're feeling. Move your face to the side, tilted up, tilted down, to the side and tilted down, and to the side and titled up. Watch your face, your eyes, your lips, your chin, and your neck.
